Medicaéro’s teams arrived on September 6 in southern Madagascar for a mission that will end on Wednesday the 17th. Each day, they conduct several hundred consultations in general medicine, pediatrics, and obstetrics and gynecology.
Our staff will be deployed to the district hospitals in Ampanihy and Ejeda and supplemented by even deeper bush missions to CSB 2s severely lacking in equipment and medication. We also continue training to address the shortage of medical personnel.
This mission will also be an opportunity to review the reconstruction of the maternity ward at Ampanihy Hospital, promised by the World Bank. Highly anticipated, the administrative and surgical reorganization of Ampanihy Hospital is promising for strengthening healthcare for the population.
